Starbucks Corporation is the largest coffee house company in the world. It was founded in Seatle, WA in 1971. The business expanded rapidly, and by the 1990s Starbucks was opening a new store every workday. Starbucks also spread its stores outside of the US and Canada in the 1990s and now operates in 43 countries outside of the United States. The company's primary product is its coffee however, Starbucks also offers food, various merchandise, and entertainment products such as music, books, and films. Starbucks has worked to build a positive image for itself by providing excellent benefits, supporting fair trade, and getting involved in various environmental initiatives such as “Grounds for your Garden”.
